Why are links important?

When you use a search engine, the web sites appear in the list according to how "highly" the search engine ranks the web site. One of the main factors (if not the main factor) determining this ranking, is how many sites link to yours, & how highly the search engine ranks sites which link to yours because the search engines effectively consider a link to your web site to be a vote of confidence in your site.

I am seeking to exchange links with other web sites (I will not link to sites which contain or condone illegal, pornographic or offensive practices or material, & we will not link to sites which promote or condone spamming, spyware or pop-ups).

I want to exchange links with quality web sites, as a reciprocal link exchange will be mutually beneficial.
